Wayanad-Mission Completed
The tour starts , We reached Wayanad at 8:00am in the morning ,The travel through the mountain was amazing the photos will explain the beauty
The whole place was surrounded by the mist , It looked very beautiful and pleasant ,The mist was due to rains yesterday night . The first thing we saw on reaching Wayanad was Chain tree . The story of chain tree was little freaky
Chain Tree - Chain tree has a mysterious story behind it. This is located at the top of the hair pin curves. The road up was built by a foreign Engineer, but the route was given to him by a Local Tribal youth and he was shot to death by the engineer. After the Road was built many accidents happened in the hair pin curve. Later the reason behind the accidents were discovered due to the spirit of the tribal youth. Its believed that his spirit is being chained to the Chain tree. Most of the driver pray and do offerings as they passby the tree to make their trip accident free.
It took around 1 hour to reach our guest house (PPS Tourist Home ).
On reaching we had a nice breakfast and took our guys an hour to be ready . The first location was Edakkal Caves .
Edakkal Caves - This location of breathtaking beauty is 25 kilometres from Kalpetta.
Edakkal cave in the Ambukuthy mountain, is not a cave in the real sense. As stated in the India Antiquary, it is only 'a cleft about 96 ft long and 22 ft wide in the rock'. It is a fissure made by a corner of rock splitting off from the main Entrance to Edkal Cavesbody due to some natural causes. The depth of both the cleft and the fissure is 30 ft. What makes it a cave to the ordinary observer is the fact that in the other portion of the large cleft, an enormous rock, weighing several tonnes, has fallen forming a roof over a large part of it. The rock wall contains some interesting carvings, which represent human and animal figures and objects of human use and symbols. These carvings speak of a highly civilized people of pre-historic age and inspires the archaeologists and historians to rewrite the history of Wayanad and Kerala as a whole. The caves accessible only by a 1 Km trekking trail from Edakkal.
The carving can be still seen very clearly .
Kuruva Island
The Kuruva island, 950 acres of ever green forest on the tributaries of east flowing river Kabani, is an ideal picnic spot, far away from the disturbances of city life.
The island is uninhabited. Rare species of birds, orchids and herbs are the sovereigns of this supernal kingdom. It is 17 Kms. east of Mananthavady and 40 kms. north west of Sulthan Bathery.
On the way back to calicut the mist had covered the entire place . So this how it was
Though the trip was only 2 days it was thrilling and adventurous . We had missed some places but I would be returning to Wayanad in 2 months time .

Tada Mission - June 21
Tada Waterfall

All started on Saturday morning at 5:00 , assembled near Koyambedu bus station . 3 bikes and 2 cars started the march to this quest . This was my first experience in trekking . Tada is situated 130 km away from chennai . It took nearly 90 minutes to reach Tada . We had our breakfast in an eatery . I couldn't see any mountain so i was desperate, and asked near by man he said it is 30 km away . After a nice breakfast we started our travel in the small street that lead to the mountain . After 22km I couldn't see any road they said here after there is no road . .....
The road, sorry guys it is very bad . My unicorn struggled in such bad road . The cars also struggled to make it . So for the next time it is better to use a Qualis or big jeeps .The road on both sides was covered with trees it was a nice experience through it . The road was not only full stones but in the middle a piles of sand which made driving very difficult .At last by 30minutes of bad road we reached the base . We just saw a watchman and so called parking lot, left our bikes and car . We tipped him 50rs to take care of the vehicles . I was bit curios so inquired him is there any animals , he quickly answered in nights we see bears but nothing in the morning only monkeys .
After a small talk and good photo session we started our trek . By 15 minutes we had climbed a small mountain from the cliff we could see the river down gushing and running .

Heart filled with adventure i was walking very fast to see the waterfall . We followed the stream on its banks and after walking for an hour we stopped to have well deserved break . Some where tired and some enjoying the water near by . Everyone where thirsty and hungry , thus came to use the water bottle and some snacks from shree mithai . All enjoyed the sweets and savories sitting and watching the water flowing in small gaps . The air was pure and oxygen-rich ,water from the stream was chill and sweet .
I never knew the power of glucose until that day . Just a cup of it made us active . we saw a sharp cliff and cameras came to action this is that photo.
After a nice nap for 15 minutes decided to walk ......The mission was to see the falls ...
There is no trail the only way is to follow the stream .Now the rocks where big and slippery little difficult to walk .Big boulders and steep jumps where needed ... Young guys were quick to jump up the rocks and help others ... some slipped but nothing serious .Immediately I remembered cliffhanger ... hey not so tough .... Very interesting .
Action story begins , the stream that we followed is no more everyone where serious some tensed faces thinking that they were lost ... Vignesh and me proceeded further leading no one new whether it was the right direction and within in few 100 meters we could see the water sparking ... so smiles and joys started ..On following the straem with in 0ne hour we reached the top . It was a wonderful moment to be there .
The best time to visit Tada is during monsoon as it will be cool and lot of water . The waterfall is not so big but there is a big pool for swimming ..... So this summarizes all.
